Description:

The Atlantic Bumper is silvery to a golden color, it has a black area on the caudal peduncle and at the edge of the opercle. Its lower profile is more arched than the upper profile and the lateral line is strongly arched toward the front.

Feeding Habits:

This fish feeds on other fish and plankton.

Range:

It is one of the most abundant fish in tropical America, commonly entering bays and estuaries.

Habitat:

It is generally found over the soft bottom of the continental shelf but sometimes forms schools near the surface.

Typical Size:

The Atlantic Bumper with reach and average of about a foot in length.
